What I take on

  • Technical fixes first. Indexing, crawl errors, speed and structured data, fixed in the order that puts the most traffic back.
  • Pages that answer the question. The answer in the first lines, the sources named, and headings a search engine and an AI assistant can both follow.
  • AI visibility, tracked. I check what ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and other search LLMs say when buyers ask about your category, and whether they cite you.
  • Local search. Google Business Profile and local pages for businesses that sell in a region.
  • Judged by visits and leads. Rankings are a means. The report shows the visits and leads search brought in.

Pages written for AI answers

More searches now end in an AI answer before anyone clicks. The pages that get cited in those answers tend to be the ones that state the answer plainly and show where it came from.

A
The answer comes first. Assistants answer in a few sentences, often before the first link.
B
A few sources get the credit. The goal is to be one of the cited pages, not just a ranked one.
C
Your page, built to be cited. An answer-first section, named sources, clear headings and structured data.
How I plan a page for a question that may end in an AI answer.

The weekly audit loop

Sites break quietly. A redirect drops, a template loses its title, a page falls out of the index. I run an audit every week so those get caught in days rather than a quarter.

  1. CrawlThe whole site, every week
  2. RankIssues ordered by the traffic at stake
  3. FixBroken things fixed, judgment calls proposed to you
  4. CheckThe next crawl confirms the fix held
A page title isn't rewritten twice within eight weeks, so each change gets time to show in the numbers.

Search inside a bigger program

Search works best next to the paid channels and the pages they share. If you want one person to own all of it, see growth marketing management.
